Destiny name their new album as recording is nearing completion.
Destiny has now decided to call their new album "Global Warming". The recording of the music for the much delayed album is almost complete.
The album will feature nine brand new tracks.
As there are a lot of guitar harmonies on the new album Destiny is considering to once again ad a second guitarist to the line-up, to be able to reproduce the songs correctly live.
Unfortunately current guitarist Michael Åberg broke his leg on New Years eve which in turn postponed his final recordings.
The only guitar parts left to record is one guitar solo and some acoustic twelve string guitars.
There might be some keyboards added as well.

However, the greatest task is still to find the right new singer.
Auditions will commence as soon as the final recordings are completed.
As previously stated by bassist Stefan Björnshög: "We will be very careful to choose a vocalist with a strong voice that suits the new music well.
It will also be of great importance that he will have a good personality that works well with the rest of the band".
Any one that is interested in the position as lead singer for Destiny should contact the band via their official My Space page.
Today's line up of Destiny features Stefan Björnshög on bass, Birger Löfman on the drums and Micke Åberg on guitar.

On the 8: th of March Destiny enters the studio to record the bands seventh album.
After endless delays it’s finally time for the Gothenburg based band, who also celebrated its 25: th anniversary last year, to finally record its new album. The production was planed to be handled by Ken Olsson whom also was involved with the bands debut “Beyond All Sense” (1985) and “Nothing Left To Fear” (1991). However he will not be involved with the initial recordings as he is not available at the moment. At this time it’s unclear if he will be involved later on during the final recording and mixing of the album.
The album will feature a total of nine brand new songs who probably more than ever before captures the bands self named style of “Mörkrock” (Dark Rock).
So far only the music is composed and ready to be recorded. The band will not complete the lyrics and melody lines until a new vocalist is recruited.
So far quite a few promising vocalists have tried out for the position. A final audition will take place when all but the vocals for the new album has been recorded.
– We will be very careful to choose a vocalist with a strong voice that suits the new music well. It will also be of great importance the he will have a good personality that works well with the rest of the band, according to band leader Stefan Björnshög.

Fredagen den 21 september 2007 går Destiny in i studion

Destiny - The Undiscovered Country free downloads!
One of the least "know" albums by Destiny must be "The Undiscovered Country" from 1998. The album got great reviews at the time but due to poor distribution and hardly any live dates it became "The Undiscovered Album". Still the album features eight really good songs that the band is very proud of. In the latest issue of Sweden's biggest hard rock and heavy metal magazine, "Sweden Rock Magazine" #40, there is an article about this particular album in the series "Forgotten Classics". Hopefully we will soon be able to present a translated version of it and in the meantime we will for a limited time offer you four of the songs for free at myspace.com/destinymetal. Hope you like them.
All the best,
Stefan Björnshög
DESTINY

Birger Löfman to play drums on Magnus Rosén's (Hammerfall) new solo album.
Starting on December 20th and finishing on the 22nd, Birger Löfman is laying down the drums on eleven tracks together with Magnus Rosén for Magnus´ forthcoming solo album ( his fifth ). The recordings take place in Los Angered Recording studio, Gothenburg, Sweden, and is engineered by the great Andy La Rocque. The music will be Funky / Rocky in straight and odd time signatures. Birger´s job during the rehearsals has been to come up with interesting rythms to fit Magnus´ bass pieces. The dynamic duo will have some interesting musicians guesting on the record,so look out for it! It´s planned to be released in late spring 2007.

DESTINY IN SWEDEN ROCK MAGAZINE (#40) 2006!
There is an article about Destiny’s forth album “The Undiscovered Country” from 1998 in the new issue of Sweden Rock Magazine (#40). The article is called “Forgotten Classics”, SRM presents the albums that you should own but probably never have heard!” Unfortunately some of the facts are wrong, but it’s still a great article.

Soon you will be able to listen and download, for a limited time, four of the tracks from “The Undiscovered Country” at http://www.myspace.com/destinymetal. The plan is also to hopefully give you an English version of the article as well as to address the facts that are wrong.

Kristoffer Göbel leaves Destiny!
Kristoffer joined Destiny in 2001 and have recorded two albums (Future Of The Past and Beyond All Sense 2005) with the band. For some time it has been clear that Kristoffer wanted to leave the band. The last gig he played with Destiny was at The Gothenburg Metal Festival last spring. The split is amicable and Destiny wishes Kristoffer good luck with his future projects.

This will of course delay the completion of the new Destiny album “Cold Fire”, but hopefully not for long. Any one that is interested in the position as lead singer for Destiny should contact the band via info[at]destinymetal.com

2007 will be the 25th anniversary for Destiny and apart from the release of the new album “Cold Fire” there will be re mastered and re recorded double album releases of “Nothing Left To Fear” and “Atomic Winter”. Both double albums will feature never before released bonus tracks.

Next year Destiny will celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Three albums are scheduled for release in 2007.
The two re-mastered and re-recorded double albums “Nothing Left To Fear” and “Atomic Winter” including lots of bonus tracks as well as the brand new album “Cold Fire”.
At www.destinymetal.com we will celebrate by adding video footage from the different time periods of the bands history.
We can already offer you the promotion video for “The Evil Trinity” from “Nothing Left To Fear” released in 1991.

BACK IN THE STUDIO

May 20, 2006
Destiny is back in the studio working on new songs for the next album, Cold Fire. Destiny also plans to ad a keyboard player instead of a second guitarist.

NEW REVIEWS
May 20, 2006
Reviews from Gothenburg Metal Festival 2006 here

GOTHENBURG METAL FESTIVAL
April 28, 2006
The gig at Gothenburg Metal Festival is just one day away. This will be
the second time in the history of Destiny that we will perform as a four
piece. The first time was in 1991 when we supported Savatage in
Borlänge. However, we are confident and do look forward to the gig. Hope
to see you there.

BACK FROM THE MINI TOUR
April 22, 2006
All right, we’re back from the mini tour supporting Tony Martin!

We had a real great time, to bad it was just five dates. The Tony Martin band turned out to be real nice guys and all of us in Destiny would like to express our gratitude to Tony Martin himself for bringing us along on these dates as well as Geoff Nichols, Jamie Mallender, Danny Needham, Fabio Cerrone and Joe Harford for a fantastic time. It was great to be able to see such a marvellous band for five days in a row. On personnel note I enjoyed the title track from the new album Scream the most, especially since it featured Tony playing the violin. It stood its ground well in a set featuring all those great Black Sabbath classics.

We also must give a very special thanks to the Tony Martin Band sound engineer Chris, as he helped us out on several occasions even tough it wasn’t his job. Chris, you’re a wonderful person and an excellent sound engineer.

Let’s not forget the great guys in extra support bands M.ill.ion (in Växjö) and Locomotive Breath (in Karlskrona).

An other person that needs to be thanked is Micke of Swedmetal who put this tour together and looked after us real well together with his partner Jonas.

Finally a great thank you to old time Destiny guitarist Floyd Konstantin who stepped in after 18 years absence to help us out on this tour. It was great to share the stage with you once again.
I have heard some of Floyd’s new songs and the sound really good. I really look forward to hearing them on an album as soon as he gets his new band together. When the Floyd Konstantin home page will be launched you will find a link to it from www.destinymetal.com

Next up is the Gothenburg Metal Festival on April 29-30. Then we go back to the pre production of the new album Cold Fire as well as the search for a permanent second lead guitarist and maybe a keyboardist as well.
Interested in the job? Send an email to info [at] destinymetal.com featuring biography, photo and a link to some sound clips.
Please do not attach any music files.

NEW DATE AND NEW GUITARIST
April 6, 2006
Destiny and headliner (former Black Sabbath singer) Tony Martin has added a new date for their tour of Sweden that begins next week on the 12:th of April. The new date is on April 14 in Linköping at The Rock.

Destiny have also found a replacement for the departed Janne Ekberg in former member Floyd Konstantin who played on the bands second album “Atomic Winter” and was a member of Destiny 1986 -1988. Before joining Destiny the first time Floyd was an original King Diamond member but was replaced by Andy La Roque before the first King Diamond album was completed.

"Since leaving Destiny he and the band lost contact until we (Floyd Konstantin and Stefan Björnshög) bumped in to each other a couple of years ago in Jönköping, Sweden. The next time we talked was last year when I called Floyd to ask his permission to ad one of his unreleased Destiny songs as a bonus track for the re-recording of "Atomic Winter". Floyd agreed and was invited to take part in the whole re-recording project that will take place later this year. After this we kept in contact and when Janne left the band both Floyd and I was interested in getting together again to see if the old magic still was there. When the Tony Martin gigs was offered we decided that this was the right time to stop talking and start playing and here we are."

Finally some Destiny news!
December 18, 2005
First the bad news. Unfortunately Janne Ekberg has left Destiny.
He has started his own business and has decided to focus on that and his family. Janne will be missed but we respect his decision. We thank him for his four years in the band and we wish him the best of luck in the future. Janne played guitar on “Future Of The Past” and “Beyond All Sense 2005”.

Now the good news. Most of the music for the next Destiny album “Cold Fire” is written. We plane to start rehearsing the songs as soon as we have found a replacement for Janne. The plan is to start recording the album in DRS in late January and we aim for a late spring release.

At the moment Birger is ill but as soon as he is well enough to play the drums again we will try out a guitarist that we hope will work out.

/Stefan Björnshög

R.I.P. David Wayne
Once again one of our heroes in the world of metal has passed away much
to early.
Former METAL CHURCH front man David Wayne was a big influence on Destiny’s previous singer Zenny Gram and METAL CHURCH was
together with Savatage the biggest and most important influences for
Destiny in the eighties. Even now twenty years later it’s hard to come
up with a better debut than the first Metal Church album. Rest in Peace
Dave, you meant a lot to the world of heavy metal and will not be
forgotten.

New MP3 samples.

BEYOND ALL SENSE 2005 IS FINALLY COMPLETED.
January 19, 2005

It took a long time but “Beyond All Sense 2005” is finally completed.
This is not the new Destiny album or even the follow up to Future Of The Past released in 2004. This is a rerecorded version of Destiny’s very first album Beyond All Sense, released twenty years ago in March 1985. The original album was just released in Sweden in limited number of 2000 copies and only on vinyl.

The oldest piece of music, “Ode To You”, is from 1983. However the lyrics for the same song are brand new, written by Kristoffer in December 2004 as a tribute to the late Dimbage Darrel. This song was never released on any album and is the first bonus track on this album. The Second bonus track, No Way Out, is a song originally intended to be included on the debut album but was left out because of the time limit on vinyls. Once again Kristoffer wrote brand new lyrics for an older piece of music. This time it’s about Ozzy Osbourne and his reality show.

This is the members of “Destiny 2004” interoperation of more than twenty year old songs by the members of “Destiny 1984”. Hopefully you will enjoy the album for what it is even though the style of the album is quite different from the music that Destiny represents in 2005.

The final track listing for the album is as follows:

1. Sacrilege* 4.30
2. Kill The Witch 3.48
3. Ode To You 4.08
4. Spellbreaker* 4.11
5. Power By Birth* 4.53
6. Rest In Peace 5.12
7. Madame Guillotine (Hang Them High) 3.44
8. No Way Out 4.13
9. More Evil Than Evil** 4.04
10. Sirens In The Dark** 7.34

Destiny 2005:
Kristoffer Göbel: Vocals
Stefan Björnshög: Bass
Janne Ekberg: Guitars
Birger Löfman: Drums

Guest Musicians:
Fredrik Olsson of Lost Horizon fame: Lead guitar* and 12-string acoustic guitars**
Mathias Rosén: Keyboards on Power By Birth

The album was recorded at DRS, Gothenburg, Sweden and StudiOmega, Varberg, Sweden. Mixed by Christian Silver at Studiomega, Varberg, Sweden and mastered by: Dragan Tanaskovic at Bohus Sound Recording

Because of all the delays it’s uncertain if the album will be released on March 14 as originally planed.

BEYOND ALL SENSE 2005 SOON TO BE MASTERED
January 13, 2005

On Monday January 17 Beyond All Sense 2005 will be mastered at Studio Bohus. This is kind of twist of this albums fate as the original version of Beyond All Sense was recorded and mixed in that studio almost exactly twenty years ago.

NOT SO HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2004-12-31

This last Christmas brought even more sorrow than we a worst case scenario could imagine. Once again we are deeply emotional affected by a disaster. Earthquake and tsunami victims are of such magnitude that you can’t ignore it even if you don’t have any personal relations to the victims. It’s not a very inspiring time to create and record music. Still we have to finish what we have started and the completion of Beyond All Sense 2005 goes on. Unfortunately this is a perfect title for the times we live in. There is a short update of the progress at: Studio Report.

Our thoughts go out to all people affected by this horrible catastrophe.

NEW STUDIO REPORT!
December 19, 2004

Studio Report has been updated.

R.I.P. DIMEBAG
December 10, 2005

When I first got the news of the shooting at the Damageplan concert and the killing of Dimebag and four more people I felt violently sick and depressed. Still I feel the need to write something but I can’t find the words to describe my feeling of shock and horror about this tragic event. My thoughts go the families and everyone close to the victims. Suddenly music doesn’t feel that important.
/Stefan Björnshög

STUDIO REPORT UP DATED!
December 7, 2004

Janne Ekberg was in the studio (DRS) today.
For more information go to Studio Report.

THE RE RECORDING OF BEYOND ALL SENSE ALMOST COMPLETED
December 5, 2004

The plan to re record Beyond All Sense is as old as the original album. The band was never satisfied with the final product when it was release almost twenty years ago. The actual re recording started way back in the year 2000 when the first drums where recorded. Since then there have been numerous recording sessions and re recordings of the re recordings. Finally this summer most of the backing tracks where completed. The plan now was to release the album in time for the Twentieth anniversary of the original album release in March 2005. Despite the fact that the band had such a long time to complete the album it’s once again a race against time to make the release date.
Kristoffer have now completed vocals for yet four more songs and on monday we will start to mix the album in StudiOmega.

For more information go to Studio Report.

PICTURES FROM HALLOWEEN METAL FEST
November 28, 2004

The concert at Halloween Metal Fest was quite good. Once again there was a delay which affected all the bands. Both support bands Sin Sister and Hawthorn did a god job and where great despite not getting a proper sound check. Destiny once again had to shorten their set because of the delay as Notre Dame had to be able play their full set as they where recording a DVD.
The Destiny set list was:
Holy Man (Future Of The Past)
Sabotage (Future Of The Past)
Tomorrows Yesterday (The Undiscovered Country) Magic Forest (Future Of The Past)
Flying Dutchman (Future Of The Past)
Who Am I? (Atomic Winter)
Living Dead (Atomic Winter)
Devil In The Dark (The Undiscovered Country)

The stage sound was great but there where some problems with the light. As far as we know the sound was very good in the concert hall too. Hopefully there will be a chance to do a full concert that is not delayed or shortened in the bands home town of Gothenburg in the not to distant future.

I managed to se the beginning of Notre Dame and they looked great. Too bad it was their last show. One can only hope that the DVD will give more people a chance to see what a great live band Notre Dame was.

You can get some cool live pictures of all the bands at www.artrock.se.

KRISTOFFER IS BACK IN THE STUDIO!
November 25, 2004

Kristoffer is in the studio again and have started to record more vocals for Beyond All Sense 2005. Read more at Studio Report.

REPORT FROM POUNDING METAL ATTACK
November 17, 2004

The headlining Pounding Metal Attack show at Lauda, Germany was an interesting gig.
As we had to be back in Sweden the next day for the Halloween Metal fest concert we decided to fly to Germany. Unfortunately the airport was an almost three hour drive away from Lauda. Our god friends Ram where playing just before us and when we finally got to the gig they had just entered the stage, It was a strange place to play. It was in the basement/cellar of an old medieval house with some kind of arcs in the sealing. Hardly a normal place for a gig but quite cool as the room was big enough for a large crowd. When it finally was time for Destiny to enter the stage everything was so delayed that we had to shorten our set to meet the curfew.
The set list was:
1. Sabotage
2. Nothing Left To Fear
3. Tomorrow Is Yesterday
4. Bermuda
5. Magic Forest
6. Flying Dutchman
7. Who Am I
8. Living Dead
9. Devil In The Dark
10. Rest In Peace
It was the first time in ten years that we played Bermuda and Who Am I?
The only bad thing about the gig was the horrible stage sound. It was almost impossible to hear what we where playing.
After the show we had a pleasant time meeting and talking with some very nice fans that had brought their old Destiny vinyl’s as well as CD's for us to sign.
Apparently there is still a problem with the distribution of Future Of The Past as well as The Undiscovered Country in Germany as some of the people we talked to had not been able to find them in the record stores. This in turn meant that we sold quite a lot of CD’s at the gig.
All in all it was a very nice concert in a very strange place with a bunch of great people. We would like to thank the audience, the bands and all involved with the Keep It True Festival for making us feel welcomed and we would love to see you all soon again.
/DESTINY

NICLAS LEAVES DESTINY WHO LOOK'S FOR A REPLACEMENT
September 22, 2004

Unfortunately, due to personal reasons Niclas Granath can no longer be a permanent member of Destiny. All the band members of Destiny wish Niclas good luck with al future projects and thank him for the time he spent with the band.
It’s now vital to find replacements as soon as possible as Destiny are in the middle of studio work as well as rehearsals for the "Pounding Metal Attack” in Germany and “Halloween Metal Fest” in Sweden.

The guitarist needs to be a good rhythm guitarist as well as a good solo guitarist. It’s also important to live in or close to Gothenburg, Sweden.
Any one interested should contact DESTINY through

KRISTOFFER IS BETTER WHILE STEFAN BREAKES A TOE!
August 9, 2004

Kristoffer is feeling better but is still not well enough to resume live work!
In the mean time Stefan Björnshög managed to get a fracture right trough his left little toe. This happened when he was hitting his foot into a pole while stopping his almost two year old daughter Nova from falling down some steep stairs. He is now using crutches for the rest of August. This won’t help Destiny's retur to the stage anytime soon.

DESTINY CANCELS METAL MEET!
July 29, 2004

Unfortunately Destiny will have to cancel their appearance at the Metal Meet Festival on July 30 due to health reasons. This means that Kristoffer Göbel, the bands singer can’t perform live until he has regained his strength. Destiny will not use a stand in singer live. Instead they will stop all live work until Kristoffer is properly rested and ready to work again.
Destiny is disappointed to cancel the Metal Meet appearance so close to the festival but feels that Kristoffer’s health must take first priority. The band hopes to plat the festival next year instead.

Destiny also hopes that the Metal Meet Festival will be a great success and that the organisers, Hawks MC, will get well deserved praise for its initiative to start a Metal Festival in Gothenburg, Sweden.

KEYBOARD PLAYER WANTED!
June 30, 004

Destiny have almost completed the basic tracks for the re-recording (including two previously unreleased Destiny songs from the eighties with new lyrics by Kristoffer Göbel, Destiny's current singer) of the bands debut album BEYOND ALL SENSE, originally released almost twenty years ago. On DESTINY’S recent album FUTURE OF THE PAST (yet to be released outside of Scandinavia and the UK) Mats Olauson gusted on keyboards on the title track.
Stefan Björnshög, Destiny’s bass player and only original member, clarifies:

-We might approach Mats again, to play keyboards on BEYOND ALL SENSE 2005, if he is available. On the other hand we plan to expand the band from a five piece to a six piece band, adding a permanent keyboardist. If we can find one fast enough he or she could be featured on the album.
-It would be great if we could find a female keyboardist that also was a god singer to ad an extra dimension to the music. The important thing is the keys though, so any one interested, male or female, should contact Destiny through avn@destinymetal.com

-The plan is to release BEYOND ALL SENSE 2005 March 14, 2005, twenty years after the original release March 13, 1985. If everything goes as planed we will also have a special twentieth anniversary (of Destiny’s first release) concert in Gothenburg, March 13, 2005. All former members will be invited, at least the once we can get hold of. Hopefully all the guitarists and singers will guest on one song each of their choice. Of course this is a big project and it might fall through but it would be a cool both for the band and the fans if it can happen.

- At this time we will however concentrate on playing live as much as possible to promote the new album FUTURE OF THE PAST (GMR). In between gigs we will continue to work on a second album of re-recordings called FOUND SOMEWHERE IN TIME. So far we have completed all the drum tracks for that album. It will feature mostly songs from NOTHING LEFT TO FEAR and probably two songs from ATOMIC WINTER as well as four previously unreleased Destiny songs from the eighties with new lyrics by Kristoffer Göbel.
-This album will have a lot more keyboards than BEYOND ALL SENSE 2005. We don’t know when FOUND SOMEWHERE IN TIME will be released but I’m sure it will surface some time during 2005 as well.

Kris Destiny, the tallest singer in the world.
May 15, 2004

Yesterdays gig with Wolf in Borås, Sweden, was a fun experience even though it wasn’t the biggest crowd either of the bands has played to. It was the first time ever that Destiny played songs from all their five albums at the same concert. The songs Rest In Peace From the debut album Beyond All Sense as well as the title track of the third album Nothing Left To Fear hadn’t been played live for more than ten years,
As a special treat Kristoffer joined Wolf on stage singing one of their songs. He was presented by Niclas in Wolf as Kris Destiny, the tallest singer in the world.

FUTURE OF THE PAST RELEASED
March 15, 2004

Today, after several delays, Future Of The Past is finally released in Scandinavia.
Still no news about the international release date. If you live outside of Scandinavia and don’t want to wait you can order the album direct from GMR at this location. http://www.gmrmusic.se/releases/future.html
Here are some quotes from a couple of reviews.

“Sorry Europe, but this year’s most interesting comeback so far is Gothenburg veterans Destiny.”

“And no ailments due to old age either, in spite of the band having been around in one form or the other since 1982. Instead the quintet delivers a firm dose of dark metal which combines the best of Savatage, Metal Church, Deep Purple and Black Sabbath”. Mattias Kling - Aftonbladet

“Of the nine tracks, "Flying Dutchman" crosses Maiden/Candlemass/King Diamond into six minutes of majestic metal. There is not a weak track on the disc. If the future of doom is as progressive and powerful as this release, I say bring on the "Future of the Past". Killer stuff!” Allan Grusie BW&BK

“The music can be described as an easy-going form of NEVERMORE mixed with dark power metal. The last track, which is also the title track, deals with the old fantasy movie “Willow” from the 1980s. I actually haven’t seen the movie yet, but after having read the lyrics carefully I definitely plan to do so soon. This is in fact a very good album.” Oscar Pettersson - Axefeast

“However, after the excellent debut “Beyond All Sense” (1985) they have managed to improve the quality with each new release, and the new album “Future of the Past” is no exception. It is by far their heaviest release to date, but the sound is still progressive and technical.”

“The masterpiece of the album is the epic title track which in itself makes the album worth buying.” Daniel Berg - Sweden Rock Magazine

“Hearty heavy metal at a gallop pace is mixed with darker, more progressive pieces.”

“However, there’s probably no risk of the Destiny fans being disappointed.” Bella Stenberg – Göteborgs-Posten

PRESENTING THE ARTWORK FOR FUTURE OF THE PAST
January 19, 2004

For a while you have been able too look at what was supposed to be the cover for Future Of The Past. However, in order with everything else that has caused a delay for this album, that picture disappeared in a computer crash with no backup. A new one had to be created...
As you probably know the Destiny logo features a triangle split in three looking like pyramid from above. This time we removed the triangle from the logo and incorporated it into to the artwork as a shining metallic pyramid in a misty landscape. On etch side of the pyramid is city. The one to the left in burning ruins representing the past and the on to the right looking futuristic with advanced aircrafts representing the future. The Destiny logo is hovering above the pyramid, in the background a dark blue sky with stars and a big moon. You can also se the title of the album hovering over the sea in front of the pyramid reflecting the letters in the water.

There are actually two new covers with the same motive. The one just described is to be the front cover of the 16 page booklet. The other cover is almost exactly the same but instead of night time it’s early in the morning just as the sun is getting up. That cover is to be for a slipcase. It’s all done in 3D and inside the booklet you can actually se different details of the front covers artwork from different angels.

Now you can se both versions of the new somewhat different final artwork for Future Of The Past at The Albums section of www.destinymetal.com. The artwork was created by Staffan Falkenström at Pixel Productions. Hope you like it as much as we do.

/Stefan Björnshög

MESSAGE FROM THE BAND
January 15, 2004

The reason that the release of Future Of The Past is once again delayed is that something happened with the original master copy. When we where going to make a new copy we decided to re-master the album as there where a couple of things that we thought could improve. Kenneth Svensson who originally mastered the album doesn’t work at Digitalfabriken any more. The new master was done by Daniel Fossum who did a great job. Unfortunately the cover and booklet is already printed which means that Daniel doesn’t get the credit he deserves.
About the recording and mixing of Beyond All Sense 2005 and Found Somewhere In Time… It didn’t work out. As we where about to start the recordings me and Kristoffer both got the flu. This meant that we could not meet the very tight schedule to complete the recordings in time for the mix in Studiomega. This was probably not a bad thing as it really felt as if we where rushing the project instead of taking the time to really do these songs justice. The main reason for the re-recordings being that we didn’t have the time to do it properly the first time around. We will complete the recordings for the albums whenever we got some extra time. The way it looks now they should be completed and released in time for the twenty year jubilee of the original release of Beyond All Sense Mars 13, 1985. At the moment we are rehearsing the songs that we will play live when Future Of The Past is finally released.

/Stefan

RELEASE DATE FOR FUTURE OF THE PAST POSTPONED AGAIN
January 12, 2004

New Destiny album Future of the Past has been postponed slightly. The new release date for Scandinavia is March 5th, 2004. Please check back for details about international release date, which will be announced shortly.

THE FIRST REVIEW!
December 8, 2003

Even though it's more than 60 days to the release of Future Of The Past the Canadian magazine BW&BK already reviewed the album in their latest issue, the one with Rush On the cover. Check it out below :
The latest from this veteran doom metal outfit from Sweden is bound to turn a few heads. Singer Kristoffer Gobel contributes all of the lyrics on what is his first outing with Destiny, their first since way back in 1998. Candlemass influences abound as they did five years ago but again it's Gobel that brings it all together. His voice soars like a young Messiah Marcolini in a style that totally belies his age. Of the nine tracks, "Flying Dutchman" crosses Maiden/Candlemass/King Diamond into six minutes of majestic metal. There is not a weak track on the disc. If the future of doom is as progressive and powerful as this release, I say bring on the "Future of the Past". Killer stuff!
Allan Grusie 8,5

KEYBOARDIST WANTED!
November 12, 2003

The time before the release of Future Of The Past will see Destiny producing two additional albums with altogether 22 songs. One of the albums is a re-recording of the out-of-print debut album “Beyond All Sense”, originally released as a limited vinyl edition in 1985. The album will also contain two newly recorded bonus tracks originating from the same period but which have never before been released. The other album will be called Found Somewhere in Time and will mainly consist of re-recordings of tracks from 1991 release “Nothing Left to Fear” together with a few re-recorded tracks from the 1988 release “Atomic Winter” and a grand total of four previously unreleased bonus tracks. AW and NLTF are also out-of-print.
All bonus tracks will have new lyrics by new Destiny singer Kristoffer Göbel, who is to debut as the bands vocalist on the upcoming “Future of the Past”.

The two additional albums are scheduled for a December mixing in Studiomega.

Destiny furthermore plan to add a keyboard player to their line-up, preferably before they begin re-recording the old material. Anyone interested in the position should contact the band ASAP.

NEW RELEASE DATE FOR FUTURE OF THE PAST
October 30, 2003

As you probably know by now "Future of the Past" is not yet released. The new release date is now set by GMR. The new Destiny album is to be unleashed upon the world on the 9th of February 2004. So this is the date to mark in your calendar for what many consider to be best and the heaviest album so far from Destiny. /Stefan

Yesterday Destiny finally signed a new record deal. GMR Music Group will release Future Of The Past this coming fall.

Check out GMR home page at:
www.gmrmusic.se

NEW TITLE...
January 21, 2003

The second album of re record Destiny songs, the first being "Beyond All Sense 2003", now has a title. The album featuring re recorded songs from Atomic Winter and Nothing Left To Fear as well as four bonus tracks never before recorded will be called "Found Somewhere In Time"!

PROMTIONAL VIDEO TRAILER
December 19, 2002

Destiny has just completed a promotional video trailer. It's 1, 18 minutes and can be downloaded in the "Sounds & Video" section of www.destinymetal.com. It features live footage from Sweden Rock Festival 2002 as well as animations. The music featured is parts of Sabotage from the forthcoming album "Future of the Past". No final deal for the album is not signed as of yet even though a spring 2003 release is planed. There are also plans for a "real" full length promotional video for "Sabotage" as well as for "Shadow of the Rainbow". Both songs from forthcoming album "Future Of The Past".

SWEDEN ROCK FESTIVAL
October 27, 2002

The concert at Sweden Rock Festival was very good even though the competition from Motörhead and Freak Kitchen, who played at other stages at the same time, was hard. You can look at pictures and read a review here
A special thanks to all the new and old friends that we met before and after the concert. Hope to see you soon again.

THE NEW ALBUM
October 27, 2002

We have not yet signed a new record contract even though we are negotiating with some labels and publishers. We do not expect FUTURE OF THE PAST to be released before next spring.
Those of you who haven’t yet downloaded the MP3 versions of the two songs Sabotage and Future Of The Past at SOUND & VIDEO please do so and feel free to give us your opinions in the Guest book. It’s always great to get feedback.

THE RE RECORDINGS OF BEYOND ALL SENSE
October 27, 2002

The original plan was to complete the recording of Beyond All Sense 2002 after the gig at the Sweden Rock Festival. However, this didn’t happen for two reasons. The main reason was that we had the hottest and longest summer in Sweden since 1994 and as the recording studio didn’t have an air condition we just couldn’t work until the summer was over.
The other reason for the delay was that me (Stefan) and my girlfriend got twins (a boy and a girl) in September.
In October we once again started to work in the studio.

NEW PLANS REGARDING THE RE RECORDINGS
October 27, 2002

BEYOND ALL SENSE 2002 will probably be renamed to BEYOND ALL SENSE 2003 as the album won’t be released this year.
The band has also decided not to re record Atomic Winter and Nothing Left To Fear. Instead there will be an album featuring songs from both albums as well as four “bonus tracks”.
These are the songs chose from NLTF: Nothing Left To Fear, Medieval Rendezvous, The Evil Trinity, Sheer Death, Beyond All Sense and No Reservation.
So far the only songs from Atomic Winter are: Who Am I? and Living Dead

The four “bonus” tracks are songs that originally was written between Beyond All Sense and Atomic Winter. Three of the songs have been preformed live way back in 1985 but was never recorded. These four songs are much to good not to be recorded and getting a proper album release.

So far no name has been decided for this album. Feel free to give us your suggestions.

FREE CONCERT, NEW T-SHIRT AND NEW URL
May 24, 2002

Preparation for Destiny’s appearance at Sweden Rock Festival June 8 includes a couple a warm up gigs. The fist one was together with Dream Evil at N-Bar/Rocknight in Kungälv, just north of Gothenburg. It’s a monthly club run by Kristoffer, Magnus Rosén of Hammerfall and Imre Daun of Don Patrol and Carma. This was the first gig for this line up and the reception from the crowd was great.
The next gig will be more of an open rehearsal as it will take place in an auditorium at school where the student can se the “concert” for free. The school is Angereds Gymnasiet in Gothenburg and the time will be around 2 or 3 pm this coming Monday, May 27. If you want to come to this gig send an email to destiny@bahnhof.se with your name and phone number and maybe we will be able to arrange something.

The new Destiny T-shirt is also available at all Destiny concerts. Hopefully we will soon be able to sell it at The Official Destiny Home Page, who by the way has a new URL: www.destinymetal.com

NEW DESTINY ALBUM COMPLETED AND MORE...
April 23, 2002

It’s been almost two years since the NEWS section has been updated. The reason for this is that we have been writing about the recording new album at:
"New album! News about the forthcoming album Future of the Past |read more|"

Which you can find at the bottom of the first page of The Official Destiny Home Page. If you are curious about what has happened to Destiny during the last two years you can read all about it there.

From now on all news from the studio, like the progress of the re-recordings of the three first Destiny albums, will be presented there and all other news will be presented here.

At this stage we are finally done with the recording, mixing and mastering of the new album, Future Of The Past. The next step is to present the album to the record labels and hopefully to get a release as soon as possible. So far the response from the people that have heard the album has been very good. If you are curious about the result you can now download two songs from the album at the Sound & Video section.

More good new is that Destiny will play at this years Sweden Rock Festival 2002-06-08. We will also do some warm up gigs, probably around Gothenburg, Sweden, in May. More about that and other gigs in the new section at On Stage.

At the moment we will concentrate on rehearsals for these concerts. But as most of the music is recorded for the re-recordings of Beyond All Sense 2002 we will start recording the final vocals this summer. The album will feature two old Destiny songs never before released on any album.

Be sure to check out the rest of The Official Destiny Home Page as it has recently been heavily updated. Hope to se you at a Destiny concert soon.

NEW ALBUM!
June 10, 2000

After some time in the studio we are now done with the pre production of the new album "Future of the Past". At the moment we have eight new songs and they all sound great. Some of the songs will probably surprise you but don't worry, it's still very much Destiny. The actual recording of the album will start on Monday.
Read more about the recording of the new album here

INTO THE NIGHTMARE COMPLETED!
May 21, 1999

DESTINY have now completed the recording of "Into The Nightmare" by the NWOBH band DEMON. The arrangements are quite orthodox but a little bit heavier than the original. The song it self is not the dark and heavy style that Destiny plays today but then again not totally unlike the style of the very first Destiny album, Beyond All Sense, released in 1985. "Into The Nightmare" will be featured on the DEMON Tribute 'Day Of The DEMON', and it's scheduled for release in July 1999. The project is being put together by Ruediger Abend of 'Unbroken Metal' in Germany.

Speaking of Beyond All Sense, the re-recording of that album have been delayed a bit but the band hope to have the recording completed before mid June.

FIRST RECORDING BY THE NEW LINE UP!
April 2, 1999

The first taste of the new dynamic Destiny line up is now completed. It's the recording of "Anguish and Fear" for the upcoming Yngwie Malmsteen tribute album, "A GUITAR ODYSSEY".
Destiny's version of the song will probably surprise quite a few people as it differs quite a bit from the original Yngwie song. This is the first time in eleven years that DESTINY features twin lead guitar on a studio recording.
The band have now decided to also re-record "Atomic Winter" as well as "Beyond All Sense" and "Nothing Left To Fear". The albums should be released next year as a trilogy with the working name.

"Millennium Trilogy part I - Beyond All Sense".

"Millennium Trilogy part II - Atomic Winter".

"Millennium Trilogy part III - Nothing Left To Fear".

The re-recording of Beyond All Sense will start in April or May.

DESTINY LINE UP! NEW ALBUMS!
February 17, 1999

Just a week before Destiny's concert with In Flames, in Gothenburg, Sweden February the 5:th, guitarist Knut Hassel decided to leave the band.
Fortunately enough Pagan guitarist Anders "Fagge" Fagerstrand was available and after just two rehearsals with the band he was invited to replace Knut on a permanent basis. The concert, which was a success, was also the premier for the bands new drummer Tomas Fredén. Finally, for the first time in many years Destiny have a full five man line up:

Zenny Gram - vocals, Stefan Björnshög - bass, Gunnar Kindberg - guitars, Anders Fagerstrand - guitars and Tomas Fredén - drums.

The band is now looking forward to the recording of their fifth, as yet untitled, album in Mars.

Destiny have also been invited to record songs to tribute albums for Yngwie Malmsteen, Black Sabbath and Demon.

As reported before Destiny also plan to re release their three first albums Nothing Left To Fear, Atomic Winter and Beyond All Sense. At this stage it seams likely that both NLTF and BAS will also be completely re-recorded versions with possibly some bonus tracks. These albums will possibly be released to coincide with the 15 year jubilee of Destiny's first album, Beyond All Sense, next year.

NEW ALBUM - THE UNDISCOVERED COUNTRY

When the members of Destiny look in to the ancient chrystal ball they at once sense the new album, "The Undiscovered Country". Those who have eavesdropped can tell that the band has progressed again. The material consists of long, intriguing and agressive songs with suprising turns, served together with exceptional choires and vocal parts coupled with a good measure of innovativeness.

Summed up, this makes Destiny of today an exciting acquaintance. Producer of the fourth album is Jörgen Cremonese of Whipped Cream. Destiny has also signed a new publishing deal with MISTY MUSIC. Furthermore they see themselves on stage and on tour again. A bit further into the foggy light of the chrystal ball they glimpse the European continent.

"The Undiscovered Country" is recorded at: STUDIOMEGA, Odens Väg 42c, 517 36 Bollebygd, Sweden. Visiting address: STUDIOMEGA, Forsa Företagscenter, 517 91 Bollebygd, Sweden. Phone: +46-33-289019
