Destiny Beyond All Sense Hifi & Musik (no gradation/ingen gradering) A Swedish variant of hard rock has developed. Maybe the term Swedish hard rock is erroneous - there is hardly anything Swedish about hard rock music, it only means hard rock that is played in Sweden. The guitar heroes are Michael Schenker and Ritchie Blackmore, but the music is similar to the American hard rock with catchy melodies, yearning lyrics and a smooth production. In fact, Michael Schenker Group and Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow have also been nearing the American style in recent years. However, Destiny from Gothenburg shows that there is more to hard rock than stylish ballads, catchy choruses and beautiful solos. They deviate from the Swedish variant by a varying tempo, rapid chord changes and breakneck solos. The music frequently turns into staccato. The frenzy and the complex arrangements are reminiscent of Iron Maiden. The lyrics completely lack love themes and are pure fantasies dealing with struggle, bravery, life and death, but are definitely applicable to reality. Destiny shuffles and deals keenly. At first the album "Beyond All Sense" seems somewhat messy, bombastic and overly pretentious. However, there is nothing wrong in being ambitious, and the grandiose arrangements harmonize with the music and the lyrics. Ideas are certainly not lacking. What the band could use is some guidance in the recording studio - a producer who can sort out the material and develop the ideas, emphasize the heaviness and pay attention to the passion of the music and work harder with the music's inherent power. Det finns knappast något svenskt i hårdrocken. Det handlar bara om att spela hårdrock i Sverige. Gitarrhjältarna heter Michael Schenker och Ritchie Blackmore, men musiken liknar den amerikanska hårdrocken med trallvänliga melodier, trånande texter och anpassad produktion. Michael Schenker Group och Ritchie Blackmores Rainbow har ju också på senare år närmat sig den amerikanska varianten. Destiny från Göteborg visar dock att hårdrock kan vara mer än stiliga ballader, medryckande refränger och vackra solon. De avviker från den svenska modellen med temposkiftningar, snabba ackordbyten och halsbrytande solon. Musiken går inte sällan över i stackato. Frenesin och de komplexa arrangemangen känns igen från Iron Maiden. Texterna saknar helt kärleksmotiv och är rena fantasier om kamp, mod, liv och död, men går mycket väl att applicera på verkligheten. Destiny blandar och ger friskt. Vid en första lyssning ter sig plattan "Beyond All Sense" något rörig, svulstig och överpretentiös. Det är emellertid inget fel att ha ambitioner, och de pompösa arrangemangen harmonierar med musik och lyrik. Idéer saknas verkligen inte. Vad gruppen behöver är vägledning i skivstudion. En producent som kan sortera i materialet och utveckla idéerna. Lyfta fram tyngden och ge akt på musikens patos. Arbeta hårdare med musikens inneboende kraft.
