| Destiny "Future of the Past" 4/5 poäng Jag vet egentligen ingenting om DESTINY, Känner inte till deras tidigare verk eller någonting. Men när det gäller deras nya alster "Future of the Past" så måste jag nästan erkänna att jag är lite imponerad. Tänk er lite smått falsettsjungande sång a la Tobias Sammet (EDGUY), blandat med mer aggressivitet och growl, och allt detta till tonerna av progressiv metal. Hur i h-vete låter detta, undrar ni. Inte alls dumt faktiskt. Nej, detta är som hårdrockens svar på "gott och blandat"-godis. Och med lite kvinnosång på några ställen så är denna gottepåsen så gott som komplett. Texterna handlar för det mesta om vad sångaren Kristoffer Göbel tycker om saker och ting. Musiken kan beskrivas som en mer lättsam form av NEVERMORE blandat med mörk power metal. Sista låten, som för övrigt är titellåten, handlar om den gamla fantasy filmen "Willow" från 80-talet. Jag har faktiskt inte sett filmen än, men efter att ha läst låttexten noga så har jag starka planer på att ta mig en titt på den snart. Destiny "Future of the Past" 4/5 points I really know nothing about DESTINY, I don’t know any of their previous work or anything. But when it comes to their newest production “Future of the Past” I almost have to admit that I’m a little impressed. Imagine a bit of falsetto vocals à la Tobias Sammet (EDGUY), mixed with more aggressiveness and growl, and all of this backed up by progressive metal. How the hell does this sound, you might very well wonder. Not bad at all, actually. No, this is something like hard rock’s equivalent of “mixed candy”. And with the addition of some female vocals in a few places this bag of sweets is all but complete. The lyrics mostly deal with what singer Kristoffer Göbel thinks of things. The music can be described as an easy-going form of NEVERMORE mixed with dark power metal. The last track, which is also the title track, deals with the old fantasy movie “Willow” from the 1980s. I actually haven’t seen the movie yet, but after having read the lyrics carefully I definitely plan to do so soon. This is in fact a very good album. 4/5 points
