| Destiny "Future of the Past" 3 fyrar GMR/Border Metal Det är inget fel på storslagen musik. Det är inget fel på att vilja påverka världen med texter. Men när resultatet blir pretentiöst är det irriterande. Jag har svårt för nye sångaren Kristoffer Göbels sångstil och texter. Destiny är ett av Göteborgs hårdast kämpande band. Med 22 år på nacken (och otaliga medlemsbyten) brukar de kallas Sveriges äldsta metalband. Men de har aldrig lyckats slå ordentligt. Femte plattan skulle egentligen kommit för ett par år sedan. Hurtig heavy metal med galopptakt blandas med mörkare, mer progressiva stycken. Låtarna är komplexa, men med tanke på den tid allt tagit borde fler varit bättre och mer engagerande. Men det finns nog ingen risk att Destiny-fansen blir besvikna. BELLA STENBERG

Destiny "Future of the Past" 3 (out of 5) GMR/Border Metal There’s nothing wrong with grandiose music. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to influence the world with lyrics. But when the outcome is pretentious it’s irritating. I’m not keen on new singer Kristoffer Göbel’s singing style and lyrics. Destiny is one of Göteborg’s hardest struggling bands. With as much as 22 years in the business (and innumerable changes of members) the band is usually labelled the oldest metal band in Sweden. They’ve never quite had a break-through though. The fifth album was supposed to be released a few years ago. Hearty heavy metal at a gallop pace is mixed with darker, more progressive pieces. The songs are complex, but considering the time it’s taken a greater number of the songs should have been better and more interesting.
