| DESTINY Sweden Rock Festival 2002 (LÖRDAG 19.20 - 20.00, SPENDRUPS STAGE) DESTINY blir, till skillnad från de flesta andra band, yngre med åren. Bokstavligen. Dagens upplage är inte bara den fräschaste och mest livskraftiga på bra länge, utan även den yngsta. Yngst är Kristoffer Göbel, som lyckas charma den lilla* publikskara som letade sig till Spendrups Stage* på lördag eftermiddag, är ett säkert trumfkort för bandets framtida karriär. Främst spelas låtar från purfärska plattan "Future Of The Past", men även två röjare från föregångaren "The Undiscovered Country". Musiken är hård och intensiv, något av det hårdaste på festivalens matlista. Attackerande riff varvas med tungt pumpande bas och långa, ettriga gitarrsolon. Bäst gör sig "The Flying Dutchman" med sin "Child in time"-liknande inledning och MAIDEN-gallopperande versrytm. 40 minuter passerar snabbt och obemärkt förbi när DESTINY spelar. DESTINY Sweden Rock Festival 2002 (SATURDAY 7.20 - 8.00 PM, SPENDRUPS STAGE) Destiny, unlike most other bands, becomes younger with age. Literally. The present line-up isn’t just the most fresh and lively in a good while, but also the youngest. Youngest of them all, newly acquired singer Kristoffer Göbel, works his charms on the small* crowd that has found their way to the Spendrups Stage this Saturday afternoon and is a trump for the future career of the band. They mainly play songs off brand new album “Future of the past”, but we are also treated with two hard hitters from the latest album, “The undiscovered country”. The music is hard and intense, among the hardest of the festival menu. Attacking licks mix with heavy pounding bass and long, eager guitar solos. The song that comes out the best is “Flying Dutchman” with its “Child in time”-reminiscent intro and Maidenesque verse rhythm. 40 minutes go quickly and without notice when Destiny plays.
