Self-taught. According to himself, he's probably just a little bit too lazy to learn from a teacher. Started out at the age of 17, five years before really getting into it.

Tony Iommi, the god of heavy licks. Jon and Criss Oliva of Savatage. Bassists such as Geddy Lee, Geezer Butler and Chris Squire. Two Russians lurk in the background: the dark Piotr Tchaikowsky and Sergei Prokofiev.
